Jeffree Star X Manny MUA Collection || Review

The Jefree Star X Manny MUA collaboration collection was one of the highly sort after collections from Jeffree Star and I was lucky enough to get the full collection on release day. I picked up mine from Beauty Bay, as on the Jeffree Star Site the shipping was too long. That was awhile ago now and I am finally writing up my review after giving all the products a good test.

Firstly I know there is some controversy about Jeffree Star, but as a Makeup Artist and Beauty Lover, I review the products as they are rather than allowing my personal views badger a product. With that said, this collection is only small but comes with 2 products which Jeffree Star cosmetics is known for, their liquid lipsticks and skin frosts. The collection consists of 2 liquid lipsticks and 1 skin frost.

Firstly the packaging is amazing. Black with holographic writing and logo, not just on the box but on the actual packaging as well. I'm a Holosexual all the way, so anything holo is a huge plus. The liquid lipsticks are two very different shades, which is nice as you can use them as a day and night look. Daddy is a matte brown nude shade, very modern and great for a day look. The only downside for me with this shade is the color is a little too dark for my skin tone, making it look a little silly on me. I'm Shook is a matte reddish nude shade, perfect for day and especially night. For my pale skin tone it comes out more red than nude, but it look perfect and works well with the Lasting Sensation lip liner from MAC. Just like all the other liquid lipsticks from Jeffree Star, they have a long lasting application on the lips. I have been able to wear this all day and it will last throughout a family meal out. The only thing that seems to affect the staying power is anything oily or greasy, this seems to break down the lipstick quite well.

Eclipse is a Skin Frost, which for highlighters is huge. I mean the size of the pan is ridiculous, so much product for the price, it's amazing. Eclipse is a champagne colored highlighter, perfect for adding that glow and would look perfect on every skin tone. Swatching it, it feels like butter, so smooth and creamy. Application with a brush on the other hand is a little tricky, with a dry fluffy brush it seems to have a bit of fall out, leaving the cheeks a little glittery and messy. I have found dampening my fluffy brush or using a more compacted dense brush helps with the application.

Overall I am a fan of this collection, and think that it would be a great one to get you started with Jeffree Star cosmetics. The price is fantastic, though all together it can be a bit pricy, though you'll have to grab it sooner rather than later as it is a limited edition collection. Liquid Lipsticks are £16 each and the Skin Frost £25.50.
