Top 5 Highend Foundations

Wow looking back I haven't continued this series in a while...but never fear it is back and will be up every Friday till December. Today's Top 5 are highend foundations. A list of my top 5 recommend tried and tested foundations, that I have found are the best for oily and acne prone skin.

This was a very strange one to me but I love it. A very wet foundation, which the only lightest shade I found is only fit for my summer skin. Yet I keep using it and keep loving it. The coverage is medium with slight build up, but it blends out beautifully on the skin. But it's the finish it leaves which is why I love it so much. It looks like natural skin, a definite no makeup makeup look. I never really go for the no makeup makeup look, but it looks really nice, great for an everyday look.  It does leave me with an even skin tone and does cover some of my blemishes. It is so light weight it doesn't feel like I'm wearing anything at all which is just what you want for an everyday natural look. The only issue with this foundation is the shade range, I feel it is a little lacking in lighter and darker shades.

This one had to be in my top foundations as it's a staple to beginner highend kits. The Mac Studio Fix Fluid has been with me since the beginning of my makeup loving days. It is high coverage and comes in a variety of shades, perfect for beginners and well anyone. The reason it is lower on my top 5, is the fact that it isn't easily blended as the others. It has a much thicker consistency and can take some time to blend it evenly into the skin. But, it still is a great foundation and during winter, when my skin looks it's worse, I always grab this guy.

This has been one of my favorites for a while but since the top two I haven't used it as much. For a product named weightless and luminous, it sounds like it might be really wet and light coverage. But, it's completely the opposite. It is weightless and luminous, but it has a medium/high coverage and a semi matte finish. It is beautiful for many skin types and compared to is predecessors the Sheer Matte and Sheer Glow it is a game changer.

This is a very different foundation to anything I have used, a stick foundation that packs a punch. Being a stick foundation it is pretty easy to apply and it is definitely matte. However, being a stick foundation it can be very easy to apply too much. It has taken me a few attempts to figure out how much product to use, but once figure it creates a beautiful base. Easily blended into the skin, leaves the base blemish free and skin tone even. The only downside side to this product is the hygiene, you need to spray alcohol on to the stick to keep it bacteria free as it makes contact with the skin directly. If you are after a quick and easy base great for on the go, then this foundation is for you.

This foundation is literally my life. Magic is definitely right, with its liquid consistency you may see this foundation as light and dewy, but it's not. With its light feel but medium/high coverage,  it gives you a flawless base with a semi matte finish. It blends so well into the skin and is perfect for an array of skin types. I have oily acne prone skin and this foundation is incredible. Even skin tone, blemishes covered and it is easily buildable after it has dried. I would highly recommend this foundation for anyone after a product that delivers on all counts. If you want to invest in a highend foundation I would definitely recommend this one.

These are what I consider my top 5 highend foundation and they have worked perfectly for me and my skin type. I would recommend any of these highend foundations, depending on your needs, but as an overall winner Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation.

What is your favorite foundation??
