January Favorites

It's now February and the thought of Valentines day and my Second Semester are filling my head and world. But before all the fun starts, I have come up with a list of things I have been loving through out January.

I have been loving just a few beauty bits this month, some you may have seen in my Instagram photos. The first is a new one but definitely now a staple to my collection, Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation. A cult favorite for most beauty enthusiasts and a long awaited want for me. It is amazing and so easy to blend on the skin, those silly blemishes completely hidden away, great for those days when you need to look flawless. To fix the foundation and matte it down further, I have been brought back to an oldie but a goodie, Loreal Nude Magique BB Powder. This stuff is amazing a cheaper alternative to the Mac Studio Fix Powder, not many shades to choose from but still perfect for flawless skin. But to make all this stay in place I have been loving the new Smashbox Pore Minimising Primer. My brows are the vain of my life, I am starting to get more confident with them though and I have tried quite a few products, and these two have been well used this month. The Soap and Glory Archary felt pen is perfect for outlining my brows, great for those bald spots I seem to have and to fill those brows in I used the wax sponge on the Maybelline Brow Drama (I think this is what it's called, the print has come off). As it is the first month since Christmas I can start appreciating the stuff I got for Christmas, such as the Stila Kitten All Over Shimmer (Shannnxo made me buy it hehe). I am obsessed, it is so perfect and pigmented and a little goes a long way, a must have product. Finally I have started a slight collection of lip balm and the one for January has been the Maybelline Baby Lips Dr Rescue Too Cool (clear), I picked up this balm in San Francisco but have been very light with it as they were not available in the UK, but now they are so I have been using it like chocolate.

Skin Care
I have been getting into a skin care routine and my skin has been loving it. I have been washing my face with the Philosophy Purity face wash, it smells so good and leaves my skin feeling clean and healthy. Once or twice a week I have also been deep scrubbing my face and I have been obsessed with the Body Shop Vitamin C Microdermabrasion. It isn't very dermal-brasion but it does smooth out my skin and deep clean my pores. To moisturize this newly smooth face, I have been loving Philosophy Hope in a Jar and Hope in a Jar Night, which help further smooth my skin and keep me hydrated. For weekends I go back home I have been loving the Body Shop Vitamin C Serum, this stuff smooths my face and makes it glow though it does have a very strange smell. But, I can now say moisturizing oily skin is something you can do and I would recommend it to anyone.

Urban Outfitters has some really amazing nail polishes and after seeing Velvet G0st/Gabby photo, I had to buy the polish. It is the Holographic polish and it is so beautiful and amazing, I just can't get enough of it. It is very pigmented and opaque and very unique, it is more pricey compared to the other polishes by Urban Outfitters but so worth it. I have also finally got my hands on the Wet Brush, which is similar to the Tangle Teezer, but feels a little bit nicer on the hair and I find my hair is smoother and healthier after using it. It doesn't have anything special about it except it can be used with wet and dry hair and de-tangles it. I found mine in TKMax but I think you can buy it online, if you love the Tangle Teezer you are going to love this brush. It's no surprise that these next bits have entered my January Favorites, The Real Techniques new Bold Metals brushes. These brushes have revolutionized my makeup routine and the way I apply makeup. They are more professional, which  mean they are pricey but they are worth it. If you have been living under a rock and have never heard or seen them, go out and do it as they are better then the basic Real Techniques brushes.

I have been obsessed with healthy eating recently and trying to come up with smoothies and meals, but this is hard some days as I just don't know what does with what. But, I discovered an app called Yummly, it is an app where you can find meal ideas and drink ideas which you can save and share. I love this app as I have found so many recipes, it is my go to place for food inspiration. It's free to download and it will change the way you think of food. Music wise to calm me on the way to my exams I have been obsessed with Ellie Golding's Love Me Like You Do and Sia's Elastic Heart. They are just so good and help me loose myself, great for calming the nerves. Though the video for Sia is really weird but still good. As it is still the winter months winter clothes are a must, and a new well used jumper is my white turtle neck jumper. The color is so nice and wintery, and the material is all fluffy and cosy great for the cold weather. This next favorite is a hint to my gamer girl days, at least once a day I have been playing Animal Crossing New Leaf on Nintendo 3DS. It is new, but I have been wanting it for a while so I picked it up. I love it and it is becoming a little bit of a distraction, making your own town looking great and catching fish, bugs and digging up fossils. It is a little childish but you have to be a big kid now and then. Finally, with all the fuss and hassle I had with my phone going flat at Uni, I finally bit the bullet and bought myself a Jackery Portable Charger. This thing is a little heavy and big but it does the job and give my phone a stand-by charge of 22 hours, great. I have used this so much over the past month and have only ever charged it twice, it is just perfect and great when your on the go, just stick it in a start charging. It even comes with a light, so it can act as a torch, so no chance of getting caught in a power cut in the dark.

These have been all my favorites for January, what have been your??
