I have seen this eye lid primer a few times in photos and have wanted to try a drugstore range of lid primer. Finally picking up the
Essence I Love Stage primer and I was a bit unsure how it would look. at first glance it was a little orange and dark for my skin tone, which for a pale person like me it a little concerning. Though there is a lot of product for the price, at only £2.50 well worth the money and a try. It has a wand applicator, so it is easier to apply then putting it on my finger and applying it. The packaging is semi-professional, but it does look a little cheap.
As for the product itself, it does come off a little dark for my skin tone, however, I did find that it blended out to appear less orange. It also works very well at keeping eye shadow in place, just what you need from a lid primer. I found it kept my shadow in place for at least 12 hours, so you can go from day to night with out needing to apply more shadow. Being a small bottle it is great for travelling, just pop it in your bag and your good to go. I also think if you are of similar skin tone you could use this primer as a concealer as it is fairly high coverage and hides the veins on my lids.
I would definitely recommend this lid primer to everyone as it is so cheap and easy to use. If you are just starting to use primers I would recommend this one as you don't want to buy an expensive primer if you only use it occasionally.

I really enjoyed this post as it is one of the brands that we actually DO get in South Africa! :P
ReplyDeleteI have used this eyelid primer a few times and my thoughts are exactly the same as yours, I have even used it as concealer once or twice when I was desperate..
