July Favorites

Its that time again with August on the horizon, which means its only 21 weeks till Christmas, oh God no time to buy presents hehe. But, we still got some time before we head back to school so lets think back to July.

The beginning of July I was in sunny Cyprus and had an amazing time, since coming back the rest of July in the UK has been a bit up and down. Some days have been hot and summery and then it has turned to grey clouds with thunderstorms, and recently some places have seen flash flooding. But, I've been trying to keep my spirits up and try to keep SAD at bay (hard at times), so I have been enjoying some beauty bits and a couple of randoms.

Beauty wise I have been loving Seventeen Falsifeye HD mascara, it is amazing for a drugstore mascara. I did a whole review on it and haven't stopped using this mascara. it is definitely a more affordable dupe to Benefit's They're Real Mascara. To add a bit of volume and definition to my bottom lashes, I have been using and loving the Clinique High Impact Mascara. This mascara I did pick up with the Glamour magazine when they were doing their Clinique freebies, but I don't think I could live without this mascara now. It makes my bottom lashes pop and brings a lot of volume to them, I don't see this volume much on my top lashes but its great for the bottoms.

To keep my spirits up I have been looking after my tan, which means I have needed a foundation to match my summer skin tone, choice, MAC Studio Fix Fluid. It is a classic high-end favorite of mine and I haven't been reaching for it as often as I usually do in the winter months but it is a really good match for my skin tone at the moment. The coverage is full which is great for covering up breakouts and correcting the skin tone. There's no smell and it lasts pretty much all day, but with my oily skin it does need a little bit of powder through out the day.

Nars Deep Throat Blush has been my go to blush this month and probably for the rest of summer (if we have one). Its that perfect shade of coral, with the perfect amount of golden shimmer to it that you don't really need a highlight. I don't have anything like this blush, compared to the many dupes of Orgasm I own. It's a must for any coral blush collector.

A new one to my expanding collection is the most amazing innovation to the gel liners around, it's the Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner (post coming soon). But, I can say that this liner is so easy to apply and makes thick ugly liner a thing of the past. It lasts all day and it is so hard to remove from the face, if you don't remove it well you'll wake up with it still on you face. It is the most amazing thing available at the moment for gel liners and the price is well worth it.

To add to the eye look and soften the old black eyeliner look on the tight line, I have been using MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Duck. It's a dark brown eyeliner which is great on the tight line to cover over any skin color that may make the Push Up Liner odd. Using a dark brown or brown liner will make the look not as harsh and will look more natural if no liner is added to the lid. this pencil is great at staying all day and doesn't run great for the swimming pool or sea.

Finally with beauty I have been loving the New Cid Cosmetics I-Crayon Lip and Cheek Tint in Rose. This I picked up in a magazine (they were really good freebies recently) and didn't really think much of it but now I'm obsesed. It has a really fruity scent and is a great redish nude on the lips. I haven't used it on the cheeks but it amazing on the lips and leaves them hydrates and semi-glossy. It has been my go to lip for the month, great new cosmetic.

There are not many randoms this month but there are two. The first is thanks to Tyler Oakley (YouTuber) as he did a video on his reaction to the new Kim Kardashian: Hollywood game. I'm addicted and cannot stop playing the game, you are basically someone who is building up followers a rep to stardom. I'm currently a B list celebrity and cannot put the game down, I may need counselling. The game is free to download, but there is in-game payments, but that doesn't happen automatically you actually have to select it and it tells you the price. I don't see this game lasting too long the way I'm playing it, so if you don't what the addiction don't download hehe.

My final favorite is a film, I'm a huge film buff and haven't been for a few months, but over the next couple of weeks ill be going a lot more. But, the film that's in my favorites is Transformers: Age of Extinction. There have been so many hit and miss reviews with this film and I have heard so many things that the Optimus Prime isn't the same and that it isn't very good and the Autobots are wrong. But, my personal opinion is that this film is just as good as the others. I know some people are not very happy with change in films and sequels for that matter. But, sometimes change is good, I thought Mark Wahlberg's performance was great and that the film still kept to a similar line to the rest (just 5 years on from the last Transformers film). I did do my research and the voice of Optimus is exactly the same and I thought it was as well. If you haven't seen this film yet and have been put off by reviews I would say go see it any way as it might surprise you.

Well that is all for my July favorites, it has been a good month so far and hopefully the rest of summer will be just as fun.

Stay Gorgeous
